My Entrepreneurship Story

My entrepreneurship story is about watching and working with my father as a child. My father owned his own home maintenance company. His jobs would range from pressure washing houses, painting drive ways, patching roofs, building pool cages and everything in between. When I would accompany him on his days at work I would do small jobs for him to help him finish the complete job sooner. For instance, when he was pressure washing houses my job was to remove the screens from the windows and clean the windows. Working with my dad taught me many lessons like what a good work ethic was and how to handle my money. When my father wasn't outside doing the manual labor of the business he was on the couch making phone calls, balancing his check book, booking jobs on his calendar. The most impressive aspect of my father's business in my opinion was he did all of it without a computer or a cell phone. Nowadays, that would be very difficult.
I enrolled in ENT 3003 because I wanted to learn more about entrepreneurship so I could help my wife more with her business. She recently started her own wedding planning company and I think the knowledge I gain from this class could be beneficial.

  1. What's up Ethan I'm Gabe. I think your story is really sweet because the best type of lessons Coke from home in which you literally got a great entrepreneurial teaching right at home. It seems like your father was a hard worker and probably taught you how to be exactly the same way. Hopefully you can get what you want out of this class and successfully help your wife with her company.

  2. Hey Ethan, your story was really touching. I completely relate with you because I also was exposed through entrepreneurship through my dad's startup business. It is amazing that you want to be able to help your wife run her business, and I am sure you are going to achieve more than you can imagine.
